The Bowery Jazz Messengers program, founded by LaGuardia High School alumnus Bato Aydelotte and directed by GRAMMY-nominated NYC musician/producer Chris Theberge, offers young musicians the chance to perform for our neighbors in need while developing leadership, group dynamics, and performance skills. We support our young artists by providing college recommendation letters, and returning alumni can perform and receive a stipend.
Concerts take place at the Bowery Mission in Manhattan on the third Saturday of each month at 12 p.m., with rehearsals/workshops on the second Saturday 1pm-4pm at Ibeam Studios in Brooklyn. Limited spots are available for 7th-12th grade musicians.
If you're interested in joining the Bowery Jazz Messengers, please fill in the info form, and one of our team will contact you to discuss the program specifics. Parental consent is required for all members.
